Digital Millennium Copyright Act, please send all communications to

Please note: The Digital Millennium Copyright Act requires that a
notification of claimed infringement must include information reasonably
sufficient to permit the service provider to locate the material. In order
to locate materials on our servers, our software requires the
"Message-ID:" and "Newsgroups:" lines of each of the messages
in question. Our servers contain well over fifty million articles, and it is
impractical to search them all to match them up with notifications lacking
this identifying information. Further, as some e-mail clients may render
various symbols in Message-ID headers as multiple-character sequences,
it is suggested that the e-mail client be configured to send this
information as plain text.
Do note in particular that "Subject:" lines are insufficient to
locate materials. "Subject:" lines do not uniquely identify an
article on our servers, and it is quite possible for noninfringing replies
to a single message to contain Subject: headers identical to an infringing
reply. Because USENET "Message-ID:" headers are designed to and
used internally by the software to uniquely identify articles, there is
virtually no chance for ambiguity or misidentification. Our news
software allows us to rapidly locate and remove headers when identified
by the "Message-ID:" and "Newsgroups:" lines of each of the
infringing messages in question.
